Word Power

'Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:'

All that God created is sustained by the word of his power. His words are really powerful. His words will never lose their power! This power is displayed in God's acts of creation and redemption. That power cannot be diminished or corrupted by man-made probelms that presently threaten the earth today like environmental pollution and terrorism.

His words of love to humanity are packaged with life-changing power that breaks the power of sin and its consequences!

'It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.'

John 6:63 (King James Version)

This power restores anyone who believes God's words back to the divine order set up for the human race. This order was and is that the human race created in the image and likeness of God will act as his vicegerent on planet earth!

'And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'

'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.'

'And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.'

To be such a divine vicegerent means to be appointed to rule by God on behalf of God on the earth! Another way to define it is that a divine vicegerent is one through whom God rules this world!

This single collective calling is fulfilled through the various specific callings within the body of Christ which is the church.

'Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.'

The agency of power to rule on the earth is words! These are not just mere words,but God's words spoken in any human language from the heart through the mouth of anyone who is a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour! Every child of God is a partaker of his nature so that he or she can look and function like God even in establishing His will on the earth as it is done in heaven.

'The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.'

Psalm 68:11 (King James Version)

Publishers of the Word of God are engaged by the Spirit of God in:

1.Praying with the Word (1 John 5:14-15)

2.Speaking forth the Word (2 Tim.4:2)

3.Living by the Word (Matt.7:24-25)

The whole creation including the opposition to God's plans and purposes are subject to the power of God's word. But God's children ought not be neither ignorant of this power nor engaged in its neglect or misuse!

The power in God's words are released when spoken with the spirit of faith:

'We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;'

2 Cor.4:13(KJV)

The release of this power is therefore hindered by unbelief:

'And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.'

Matt.13:58(KJV)

'Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?'

'And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.'

The power of God's words spoken in faith produces supernatural results which may appear 'loudly' spectacular or 'quietly' commonplace.

'And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.'

Mark 16:20 (KJV)

It is made effectual by the children of God's hearts and minds are filled with the Spirit of God and the word of Christ:

'And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;'

Eph.5:18(KJV)

'Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you in all wisdom;teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.'

Col.3:16(KJV)

Children of men who are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb speak the word of God in faith and see the kingdom of God established on the earth,thereby fulfilling divine destiny!

'The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.'
